About DoseStreaks

A free medication tracker and health companion built for South Africa.

Last updated: 9 October 2026

What DoseStreaks is

DoseStreaks helps people in South Africa take their medication on time and keep a reliable record of it. It groups medicines into the moments of the day they are actually taken — pre-breakfast, morning, lunch, dinner, bedtime, a slot you name yourself, and an as-needed slot — reminds you when each one is due, and keeps a history of what you took.

That history becomes adherence streaks, a wellness garden that grows as you keep up with your doses, and a doctor-ready report you can export and take to an appointment.

What it does

  • Dose reminders by session, with your own times, and low-stock reminders based on the count you enter
  • Blood pressure and blood glucose tracking, read against South African guidance
  • Appointments with private visit notes
  • A Health Team: invite a family member, carer or healthcare professional and choose exactly what each person can see
  • A public library of plain-language health guides, each citing its official South African source and carrying a review date
  • South African emergency numbers, readable without an account

Every feature is free. There is no paid tier, no expiring trial and nothing to buy inside the app.

Who it is for

Anyone in South Africa managing their own medicines or helping someone else manage theirs — people living with a long-term condition such as high blood pressure or diabetes, parents and carers, and the family members they choose to keep informed. The app interface is available in the 11 written official South African languages; health and medicine information stays in English so the clinical detail is only ever read in the version that was checked.

How it treats your health information

Your medications, doses, vitals and appointments are stored on your own device first and synced to your own private account. No other user can see them unless you invite them to your Health Team, and then only the parts you choose. We do not sell your health information or share it with advertisers, and you can permanently delete your account and its data at any time. The privacy policy has the detail.

What it will not do

DoseStreaks is an adherence and information tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or tell anyone to start, stop or change a medicine or a dose. It never shows medicine prices, because South African law restricts advertising them. In an emergency, do not rely on an app: call 10177 for an ambulance, or 112 from a mobile phone.
