Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of the DoseStreaks app and website. By using DoseStreaks you agree to them.

Last updated: 4 August 2026

DoseStreaks does not give medical advice. It is a tool for recording and remembering what you and your healthcare provider have already decided. Never start, stop or change a medicine because of something you saw in this app. In an emergency call 10177 (ambulance) or 112 from a mobile phone — do not rely on the app.

Who these terms are with

These terms are an agreement between you and DoseStreaks (“DoseStreaks”, “we”, “us”, “our”) governing your use of the DoseStreaks website and app. DoseStreaks is based in South Africa.

By creating an account, ticking the consent checkbox that links to this page, or otherwise using DoseStreaks, you accept these terms. That acceptance is valid and binding electronically under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 — you do not need to sign anything on paper.

What DoseStreaks is

DoseStreaks helps you track your medication, log doses, record vitals and keep appointments. It records and reminds. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or decide anything about your treatment.

It is not a medical device and has not been registered as one with SAHPRA.

Reference information

The medicine formulary, health condition guides, medical aid information and emergency numbers are general reference material for South Africa. We work to keep them accurate, but they may be incomplete or out of date, and they are not a substitute for the leaflet in your medicine box or advice from your doctor, pharmacist or clinic.

Where information conflicts, your healthcare provider and the official product information are correct, not this app.

Language and translation

The app’s interface is available in South Africa’s eleven official languages. Health and medicine content — the formulary, the health library and articles, condition guides, emergency information and these legal pages — is published in English only, and English is the authoritative version.

Where any part of the app is translated, whether by us, by your browser, by your device or by any other automated tool, that translation is provided for convenience only. Meaning can be lost or changed in translation, and we do not warrant that any translated version is accurate, complete or current. To the extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss, harm or misunderstanding arising from a translation, mistranslation or machine translation of any part of the app or its content.

If a translated version conflicts with the English version, the English version applies. If anything is unclear in any language, ask your doctor, pharmacist or clinic rather than relying on the translation.

Your account

DoseStreaks’ tracking tools — medications, doses, vitals, appointments, your Wellness Garden and the rest of the signed-in app — require a free account. You can browse our public website, including the health-guide articles, without one.

You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access to it.

DoseStreaks does not restrict use by age. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must read and agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy on your behalf, and is responsible for supervising your account and the health information kept in it.

Your Health Team

If you invite someone to your Health Team, you choose what they can see and you are responsible for the accuracy of anything you send them through the app, including check-in messages.

Your information

The information you put into DoseStreaks is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use it. You can export a report or delete everything you have entered at any time.

Ownership

The DoseStreaks app and website — including its design, source code, trademarks, and the compiled formulary, condition guides and other reference content — belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws. These terms do not transfer any ownership of them to you. You may use DoseStreaks for your own personal, non-commercial health tracking, subject to the acceptable use rules below.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use DoseStreaks to give medical advice to anyone else
  • Try to access another person's account or data
  • Invite someone to your Health Team, or message them through it, without their consent
  • Interfere with, overload or attempt to break the service
  • Copy, resell or redistribute the app or its content
  • Use it for anything unlawful

Reminders are best-effort

Dose reminders depend on your device, its battery and notification settings, and your network. We cannot guarantee that any particular reminder will arrive or arrive on time. Do not rely on DoseStreaks as the only safeguard for a critical medicine.

Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep DoseStreaks running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, including the service entirely, at any time.

If you installed DoseStreaks from an app store, that store’s own terms govern the download itself, in addition to these terms.

No warranty

DoseStreaks is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, and without limiting your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, we make no warranties about its accuracy, reliability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of DoseStreaks, including any missed dose, missed reminder, inaccurate or outdated reference content, an action taken by someone on your Health Team, or any decision made on the basis of information in the app.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by our gross negligence, or your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

Third-party services

DoseStreaks relies on other companies to run the service — for hosting, our database, authentication, and delivering reminders and notifications. Our Privacy Policy describes what they do. If you choose to sign in with a third-party account instead of an email and password, that provider’s own terms also apply to that sign-in.

Ending your use

You can stop using DoseStreaks and delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms.

General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about using DoseStreaks. If we do not act on a breach of these terms straight away, that does not mean we have given up the right to act on it later.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use DoseStreaks after a change means you accept the updated terms.
